Bottled at cask strength exclusively for ; 56 percent rye, 33 percent corn and 11 percent malted barley. Entered in new, air-dried #4 char, 53-gallon barrels at 105 proof for our Rye Whiskey and aged on the upper floors of the rickhouses. We waited over a year to get a barrel from Wilderness Trail and it was well worth the wait!
Wildnerness Trail’s rye mash bill is one created for a broader balance of flavor to offset the typical high ryes commonly found, distilled from Kentucky-grown Heritage rye from their own local Kentucky farm.
